About Us

Progressive Physician Network, Inc. (PPN) is a non-stock corporation organized under Chapter 181 of the Wisconsin Statutes on December 9, 2008. PPN is a clinically integrated Independent Practice Association (IPA) and as such provides the structure for collaboration among PPN physicians in an active and ongoing program designed to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare. Under this clinically integrated model, PPN has single-signature authority to jointly negotiate health plan agreements on behalf of the independent practices. Joint contracting with health plans is a necessary component of this program in order to accelerate improvements in health care delivery. PPN is comprised of aligned members whose joint ventures and clinical integration programs demonstrate significant pro-competitive impact on the relevant markets.

Governance and Management

Governance of PPN is outlined in the Bylaws. Day to day operations are managed by the Executive Director, who works in close consultation with the PPN Board. In an effort to control costs, PPN will utilize resources from F&CH as often as possible; however, there are certain positions that are filled with staff directly responsible to the PPN Executive Director.

Mission and Vision

Mission Statement

Through clinical integration we will work to preserve the independent practice of medicine and collaborate with affiliated physicians, hospitals, health plans and consumers to implement innovative strategies that will deliver quality and cost effective care to the patients we serve.

Vision

  • There will be a higher level of collaboration and interconnectivity among strategically aligned providers who are able to demonstrate quality, manage changing reimbursement methodologies, control costs and effectively compete in this market.
  • Such collaboration will create a more organized, consistent and patient-friendly system of care and reduce redundant infrastructure among the aligned partners.
  • The aligned partners will remain financially viable in an increasingly competitive health market.
  • There is open and collaborative dialogue between the Medical College and the community based physicians such that it accelerates and spreads the adoption of current research and innovative methods to achieve optimal patient care.
